Open-Source Office Suites

If you are need an office suite on a budget and you don’t need 100% Microsoft compatibility, there are a number of open-source office suites worthy of your consideration, including Apache Open Office and The Document Foundation‘s Libre Office.

These office suites include a word processor, spread sheet, slide show presenter, drawing utilities, and database engine.

For Mac OS X users, there is also a “port” of Open Office with Mac OS X-specific features called NeoOffice.
